Following the loss of Daphne, our German Shepherd bitch, we have a new addition to the family.
Lola is a four and a half year old German Shepherd and she is settling in well. Bertie, out cat, is not yet too sure about her and currently takes a dim view of this new member of the Sett. He misses Daphne as they were great friends. Hopefully he and Lola will learn to like each other too.

We have now finished redecorating the Breakfast Room and Mrs Badger was very busy doing the detail work on the ceiling.

We have just finished completely renovating our two ground floor ensuite guest rooms and are just finishing redecorating the Breakfast Room, which will be even lovlier than before, bright and elegant.
These are the sorts of things Badgers do during the winter hibernation period. We hope our guests will enjoy these improved facilities.

Well, Autumn is now upon us and we are making the set nice and warm. We had a great weekend at the races in November and are now looking much forward to the big meeting in March, next year.
We have been doing some renovating and also repairs in the car park. Mr Toad was complaining about the pot holes making his car bumpy - all fixed now and he is very happy.
We will be going to his birthday party at Toad Hall next month.

Bed and Breakfast in Cheltenham
Big hotels are all very well, but are not for all of us. The idea of a cosy, traditional B&B is very appealing and when you find a real corker like Badger Towers it’s as though you’ve found buried treasure.
You’ll find Badger Towers just a short walk from the town centre on Hales Road. It provides off street parking and a very warm welcome. Peter and Claire are perfect hosts and the Towers feels very much like a home. There is a charming sitting room for guests that is perfect for relaxing and a nice and bright breakfast room.
This is a lovely large Victorian Villa with plenty of original features all very apparent in the surprisingly large bedrooms which are all ensuite. We really were delighted at the standards here, are all B&Bs meant to be this nice? The rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, with superbly comfortable beds. The bathrooms are very much good hotel standard with modern fittings.
Needless to say the eponymous badgers are everywhere, one in each room and they pop up in cabinets and chairs. All have their own personality and we loved them. Ask Peter to tell you the story of Badger Towers and how it got it’s name, we won’t give the game away.
Now a B&B is bed and breakfast, so ‘What about the breakfast bit ?’ you may ask. Claire uses local produce, and the tomatoes are fresh and the Gloucester Old Spot Sausages (from her secret supplier) are very, very yummy. My husband is chief Full English taster ( I can’t quite do big breakfasts) and he was a very happy chappie. I settled on Mrs Badger’s homemade marmalade and toast, just perfect. We got a paper too.
All in all a truly good B&B and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Ask Peter to point you in the direction of the good foodie pub down the road, well worth the visit. Badger Towers, comfy, cosy, elegant and a home from home. You could join the smart Sett and stay at Badger Towers too.Reviewed by Elizabeth Jordan
